| NON-CONTACT MEASUREMENT OF CONTOURS, PROFILES, OUTLINES. |

|
The outline of a straight or round object is measured by moving the object, the sensor or both of them.
Profiles of flat objects can be measured with sensors traversing perpendicular to the transport direction. Data of small or short parts may be collected with a laser scanner.
|
|
For a circumferential profile the object should be placed on a turntable (see sketch). The sensor may be fixed for single outlines or movable for 3D surface data.
