New Release RadCalc 7.4.2.0 – Targeted Enhancements for fMC and System Integration

We are excited to announce the release of RadCalc v7.4.2.0, introducing targeted improvements in calculation accuracy, modelling consistency, and clinical integration of fast Monte Carlo and Automated QA workflows.

24.11.2025

Key Updates in the new RadCalc v7.4.2.0:

  • Fast Monte Carlo (fMC) optimization
    • Improved speed in computing Field Size Correction Factors during beam modelling.
    • Adjusted particle count and batch sizes to enhance statistical reliability of uncertainty calculations. Output consistency verified against BEAMnrc across multiple uncertainty thresholds.
    • Improvements of collimator scatter model increases dose calculation accuracy.
  • System and modality support
    • Added support for EPID image processing from TrueBeam v4.1 systems with Acquisition System v5.0.2.109.
    • Tomotherapy modelling updated: refined leaf geometry, adjusted MLC focal point, and revised point dose computation for improved agreement with plans using the VoloUltra optimization algorithm from Accuray.
    • Preliminary support for GammaPlan v11.5 database integration.
  • Other Photon and Electron Improvements
    • DICOM tag– Adjusted Varian Millenium 120 leaf MLC and the HD120 MLC BEAMnrc MLC leaf dimensions for improved consistency with measured profiles. The beam model will not need to be re-generated for BEAMnrc customers with these MLCs, however, the ARLFO will need to be re-optimized.
    • Modified the import for Electron calculations to ensure that only points with valid coordinates are included. It is recommended that Electron plans are exported with the Structure set and RTDose to ensure the correct information is included from the TPS, regardless of any caveats from the different TPS.
  • Workflow and infrastructure
    • DICOM tag–based rule clauses now supported for TPP automation.
    • Services Manager can now be configured without requiring Windows AutoLogon.

RadCalc v7.4.2.0 is available for users that are already on a v7.4.x.x version or have an active maintenance contract or subscription. To schedule installation, please contact Technical Support directly at Support.RadCalc@lap-laser.com.
