LASER TECHNOLOGY - THE PRECISION INTERFACE BETWEEN PATIENT AND MACHINE

Precise, accurate and reproducible patient positioning is paramount to the success of radiation therapy.

Virtual simulation is the process of transferring the radiation therapy plan from a static 3D patient model on to the patient being treated. Virtual simulation is not only a process of marking coordinates on the patient; it is also a fundamental quality assurance step in the radiation therapy treatment. The validity of the radiation therapy plan is checked during the virtual simulation process and ensures the treatment beams can be aligned to the planning target volume.

Positioning and marking lasers represent the interface between the patient and the machine. LAP lasers deliver the highest precision, accuracy and reproducibility to give radiation therapy a reliable base.
